BEAR LAKE HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELORS

Bear Lake High School counselors offer short-term individual counseling to students, as well as small group counseling.  Areas addressed in these settings may include:  Friendship and Social Skills; Anger, Anxiety, Sadness or Loss; Learning Self Control; Improving Self Esteem; Career Exploration; College Planning; Scholarship and Financial Aid; Testing Services and Interpretations, and Life Planning.

To build trust with students, school counselors will keep information confidential, with some exceptions.  Because these services are provided to minor children in a school setting, counselors may share information with parents/guardians, teachers, and/or administrators or school personnel who work with the student, so that they may better assist the student as a team.  The counselor is also required by law to share information with parents or others in the event the child is in danger of harm to self or others.
